Mini-Course "Scientific Pursuit, Communication, and Integrity" 

Announcement of a mini-course
  Date and time:  February 14, 16, 21, 22 and 23, 2012.  18:30 PM - 20:30 PM
  Place: Main Lecture: SIBS auditorium. Small Group Discussion: to be announced.
  Lectures open to all interested. Students and postdocs in SIBS may register for small group discussions following Lecture 1. Advanced students in preparation of publication and presentation are strongly encouraged to attend.

  Course Content:
  Lecture 1: Scientific pursuit: personal and historical perspectives
  Lecture 2: Presentation and publication: skills and procedures
  Lecture 3: Scientific misconducts: FFP & gray zone problems
  Lecture 4: Scientific integrity: communication, collaboration & competition
  Lecture 5: Becoming a successful scientist: retrospectives and prospectives
  Course Format:
  1.      Each lecture is followed by extensive questions & answers
  2.      Lecture 3-4 will be followed by small group (<20) discussion on selected case studies, with participation of ION faculty.
  3.      Reading materials for lectures will be provided via e-mail to all interested (sign up with e-mail required at the end of Lecture 1). Additional registration required for attending small group discussions.
