ION zebrafish center established in 2006 also is the Southern Center of National Zebrafish Resources of China and located on the first floor of the SIBS building with a total number of 1100 tanks. It is equipped with an automated zebrafish breeding system, microinjection setups and other essential apparatus for zebrafish relevant research.

The Zebrafish (Danio rerio), with transparent embryos, external fertilization, larger clutch sizes and moderate generation time, especially the accessibility for genetic manipulation, has served as an excellent vertebrate model in scientific research.

We are supplying a diversity of techniques, wildtype zebrafish, transgenic and mutant lines, which can be accessed online (www.zebrafish.cn, National Zebrafish Resources of China). Furthermore, we will hold workshops and seminars regularly.
