Services and Technical Support
- Generating transgenic flies
The Drosophila Facility generates transgenic flies upon the request of individual laboratories. Specific services include plasmid generation, injection of recombinant DNA into embryos and identification and collection of transgenic fly lines.
- Acquiring fly lines from stock centers in USA
Under request, the Facility helps individual laboratories to select and order fly lines including mutants, transgenic lines and other tool lines from USA stock centers (Bloomington and Harvard).
- Electrophysiology recording
The Facility can help to perform the following in vivo or in vitro recordings with both Multiple Clamp 700B and Axoclamp 900A preamplifiers.
1. Intracellular recordings: excitatory neuromuscular junction potential and current recordings in both larval and adult preparations.
2. Extracellular recordings: electroretinograph (ERG) and action potential (AP) recordings on the nerve of motor neurons in both larval and adult preparations.
