The Non-human Primate Facility of ION was established in 2009 for studying the neural basis of cognitive functions and the mechanisms of neurological disorders. The facility consists of Suzhou Facility and Jiuting Facility, which focus on the study of large primates and small primates respectively.

The Jiuting Non-human Primate Facility is located in Jiuting town, Shanghai. In February of 2011, we imported 57 marmosets from Germany. At present, the marmoset colony has been successfully established in Jiuting Facility. Furthermore, we will carry out electrophysiological, behavioral, optogenetic and transgenic studies on marmosets, and provide essential services for the laboratory use of marmosets in ION.
